COMEDY NETWORK

BROKEN JOKE

Austin’s Weird Funny

Broken Joke was a weird little comedy network with big dreams. Inspired by the iconic honky-tonk the Broken Spoke, our name nodded to Texas history—then took a sharp left turn into sketch comedy, stand-up, and chips.

Born and built in Austin, Broken Joke aimed to spotlight the city’s comedy talent by teaming them up with filmmakers to create bold, hilarious, and proudly local content.

What We Made

We kicked things off by filming a stand-up set with Saturday Night Live's Devon Walker at the legendary Coldtowne Theater.

Then came The Chip Show, a salty talk show hosted by Christina Parrish, where she ate chips and chopped it up with Austin comics like:

Shot in the Pixelated Ideas studio and created by Christina herself, The Chip Show became the face of Broken Joke's homegrown spirit.

We also had an original animated series in development and were building toward a larger slate of original programming on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat.

The Pitch

"We are Broken Joke, Austin’s Comedy Network. We are a group of comedians, producers, and filmmakers who work as a team to create weird funny content."

Our plan was to launch a multi-channel network fueled by Austin’s vibrant but under-supported comedy and film communities. We sought to partner with local brands and businesses, offering everything from branded sketches to full-on comedy campaigns.

What Happened

Despite months of planning and some great early wins, the joke broke. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to secure the investment needed to keep the network running. But the spirit of Broken Joke lives on in the projects we made, the comics we worked with, and the laughs we shared.

A Toast to the Joke

Broken Joke may not have gone the distance—but it was a damn fun ride. And who knows? Maybe someday it’ll rise again from the punchline ashes.
